1st batch of doctors, nurses of SMCH quarantined

April 6: The first batch of doctors, nurses, ward boys, ward girls, para-medical staff on duty at COVID-19 ward in Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) has been sent for quarantine in a hotel at Silchar. They were on duty in the coronavirus ward of SMCH for the last seven days. As per protocol, those engaged in treatment of COVID-19 patients ought to be sent for compulsory quarantine of 14 days after 7 days of duty. As such, the 1st batch engaged in that ward at SMCH were quarantined.

They are the real COVID-19 warriors of our society who were away from their families since the last 7 days and now they will once again be away for another 14 days. Social media is full of praises for this dedicated batch who risking their own lives offered service to the highly infected coronavirus patients. At present, two COVID-19 positive patients are admitted at SMCH and their condition is learnt to be stable.

It also needs mention here that these doctors, nurses and other staff also joined the nation in lighting candles in the SMCH campus on Sunday night at the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. way2barak also join all netizens in offering heartfelt thanks to this group of real warriors.
