২৫ ডিসেম্বরঃ রামনগরে উদ্ধার হওয়া মৃত যুবককে শনাক্ত করা গিয়েছে। তিনি ২৩ বছরের বাসু বৈষ্ণব। বাড়ি জালালপুরে। একটি সন্ধানহীন ট্রাকের খালাসি। চালক বিশ্বজিত দাস মৃতদেহ উদ্ধারের খবর পেয়ে রামনগরে গিয়েছিলেন। তিনিই জানান, হাইলাকান্দি থেকে গাড়িটি সন্ধানহীন হয়ে পড়ে। সঙ্গে বাসুরও খোঁজ মিলছিল না। এ বার বাসুকে মৃত অবস্থায় পাওয়া গেলেও সন্ধান মেলেনি গাড়ির।

এ দিকে, জেল রোড শনিমন্দির লাগোয়া স্থানে বছর পঁচিশের যে যুবতীর মৃতদেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে, এ পর্যন্ত তাঁর পরিচয় বের হয়নি। পুলিশের অনুমান, এটি আত্মহত্যাই। সে ক্ষেত্রেও প্রশ্ন, নালার ধারে এমন জায়গায় কীভাবে আত্মহত্যা করল। করলেও ওই জায়গাটিকেই কেন বেছে নিল।

December 25: The dead body of a man recovered at Ramnagar has been identified. He is 23 year old Bashu Baishnav, a resident of Jalalpur. He is an apprentice handyman of a truck which is still now untraceable. The driver of the truck went to the spot where the dead body was found. The driver informed that the truck was missing from Hailakandi. Along with the truck, Basu Baishnav was also missing. Though Basu has been found dead, but the truck was not recovered.

On the other hand, the dead body of the girl (aged around 25 years) recovered from Silchar Jail Road could not be traced till now. Police are doubting this to be an incident of suicide. If this is to be believed then many questions crops up which does not have any ready answers. The main question is how did the girl commit suicide on the side of a drain without being noticed by anybody? Why did she choose such a place to commit suicide?
