কাছাড়ের মাওবাদী রিমা নাহরকাটিয়ায় গ্রেফতার

ওয়েটুবরাক, ৩ এপ্রিল : রবিবার একযোগে অসমের ৪ জেলার ১৭ জায়গায় অভিযান চালায় এনআইএ৷ কাছাড়, করিমগঞ্জ ছাড়াও অভিযান চলে ধুবড়ি এবং ডিব্রুগড় জেলায়৷ নাহরকাটিয়ায় তারা রিমা ওরাং ওরফে সরস্বতী ওরাং নামে এক মহিলাকে গ্রেফতার করেছে৷ তার বাড়ি কাছাড় জেলায়৷ মাওবাদী সন্দেহে তার গতিবিধি কিছুদিন ধরেই বিভিন্ন সূত্র মারফত নজর রাখছিল কেন্দ্রীয় তদন্ত সংস্থাটি৷

সরস্বতী ওরাং ওরফে রিমার কাছাড় যোগ বরাক উপত্যকা জুড়েই উদ্বেগের বিষয়৷ এখনও মাওবাদীরা এই অঞ্চলে নাশকতামূলক কিছু না করলেও এরা যে বড়সড় ঘাঁটি গেড়েছে, তা নানা ঘটনাপ্রবাহে স্পষ্ট৷

April 3: On Sunday, National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted search at multiple locations across Assam and arrested one absconding Maoist cadre. NIA conducted search at 17 locations in Assam in Cachar, Karimganj, Dibrugarh and Dhubri districts. One absconding accused Reema Orang alias Saraswati D/O Sonichara, resident of Village Mahaltal, PS Joypur, District Cachar has also been arrested from Dibrugarh district in the case.

This case relates to the arrest of Maoist leader Arun Kumar Bhattacharjee alias Kanchan da, a member of Central Committee of CPI (Maoist) along with his associate Akash Orang alias Kajal, a member of Assam State Organizing Committee of CPI (Maoist) from Patimara Tea Garden under Udarband PS of Cachar district on 6 March, 2022. These accused persons along with their associates were involved in spreading the network of CPI (Maoist) in Assam and North-East region of country. The case was initially registered as FIR No. 02/2022 at Crime Branch Police Station, Panbazar, Guwahati, Assam and re-registered by NIA on 16 March, 2022.

During the search conducted today, digital devices and incriminating documents of CPI Maoist party have been recovered and seized. Further investigation in the case is continuing.
