Ray of hope: After more than a month, none die at SMCH due to Covid-19

67 patients in ICU, 11 in ventilator support & 88 put under oxygen at SMCH

June 25: Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley for more than a month. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 24 June to 5 PM on 25 June) did not witness the demise of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. This is ofcourse a ray of hope that after more than a month, none died at SMCH being infected by coronavirus.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 25 June, there were 147 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 67 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 80 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 11 patients were put under ventilator support and 88 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 24 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged. 02 patients took admission in Covid Care centre.
