2nd dose of Covaxin for age group 18 to 44 to be given in Assam from 12 to 14 June
2nd dose only for those who got their 1st dose on or before 7 May
June 11: Amid shortage in supply of Covaxin in Assam, many were worried about the 2nd jab. However, on Friday, Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS, Director of Health Services (Family Welfare) while replying to a social media user informed that those in the age group of 18 and 44 years in Assam can now take their second dose of Covaxin on 12, 13 and 14 June or as decided by the respective districts at the same centres where they got their first jab. However, this order will be applicable for those who had taken their 1st dose of Covaxin on or before 7 May, 2021. They would not require any online registration and would rather walk in to get the jab at the vaccination centres.
Munindra Nath Ngatey, ACS, Director of Health Services (Family Welfare) tweeted, “Request all citizens of age group 18-44 years,who have taken their Covaxin 1st dose on or before 7th May/21 to avail their 2nd dose in the same CVCs on 12th or 13th or 14th June/21 or as decided by the districts The vaccine received will cover for the above only.Walk in regd.”

That means, those in Assam who have received their first dose of Covaxin from 8 May onwards shall have to wait at present for the 2nd dose till further instructions from the state government or respective district authorities.
