All Assam Chakka Bandh on 27 January withdrawn

Jan. 26: A total of 11 private transport workers’ associations had called for a series of chakka bandhs in the upcoming weeks beginning with a 24-hour long bandh across the state on 27th January. However, the Assam Motor Transport Associations have withdrawn the 24-hour Chakka Bandh scheduled on January 27. The chakka bandh was called off after the labour and transport commissioners and other officials assured the Motor Transport Associations that the proposed welfare scheme for transportation workers is being worked up.

The association informed that they will call for the bandh again if they won’t get any fruitful result from the meeting. Representatives of the transport workers’ unions will sit for talks with the concerned authorities on Wednesday.
