Sikh Gurudwara stands beside daily wage workers at Nagatilla & Elgin Grant
নাগাটিলা, এলগিন গ্রান্টের দিনমজুর পরিবারের পাশে শিখ গুরুদোয়ারা

২১ এপ্রিলঃ নাগাটিলার দিনমজুরদের মধ্যে মঙ্গলবার ত্রাণসামগ্রী বিতরণ করল শিলচরের গুরুদোয়ারা শ্রীগুরু সিং সভা। ৮০জন দিনমজুরের মধ্যে বিলি করেন ৫০ কেজি চাল, ৫০ কেজি আটা, ৩০ কেজি ডাল, ১২ লিটার সর্ষের তেল, ৫৪ কেজি আলু, ৩০ কেজি পেঁয়াজ ও ৪ কেজি লবণ। গুরুদোয়ারার কর্মকর্তারা আশা করছেন, তাদের ৫-৬ দিন কেটে যাবে এই সামগ্রীতে।

তাঁরা জানান, খালসা এইড ইন্টারন্যাশনালের স্বেচ্ছাসেবক প্রয়াত ইন্দরজিত সিংয়ের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানিয়ে এ দিন তাঁরা এই শুকনো খাদ্যসামগ্রীর লঙ্গরের আয়োজন করেন। ইন্দরজিতবাবু ডাক্তার ও পুলিশ কর্মীদের জন্য পিপিই কিট নিয়ে ফরিদকোট থেকে ভাতিন্ডা যাচ্ছিলেন। পথে দুর্ঘটনায় প্রাণ হারান। সবাই তাঁর আত্মার চিরশান্তি কামনা করেন।

১৮ এপ্রিল তারিখেও গুরুদোয়ারা শ্রীগুরু সিং সভা ত্রাণসামগ্রী বিতরণ করে। সে দিন সনাতন উন্নয়ন সংস্থা নামে এক এনজিওর কাছ থেকে দুস্থদের কথা শুনে সবাই মিলে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েন। ছুটে যান এলগিন গ্রান্টে। ১৩০ পরিবারের মধ্যে বিতরণ করেন ৩ কেজি করে আটা, ১ কেজি ডাল, ১ কোজি আলু, ৫০০ গ্রাম পেঁয়াজ, ৫০০ গ্রাম সর্ষের তেল, ১ প্যাকেট লবণ, ১টি সাবান।

April 21: Relief materials were distributed among the daily wage workers at Nagatilla, Silchar by Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha. A total of 80 such labourers were given grocery items which included rice 50 kg, flour 50 kg, pulses 30 kg, mustard oil 12 litre, potato 54 kg, onion 30 kg and salt 4 kg.

The devotees of Gurudwara hoped that with these food stuff, the people will be able to sustain for 5 to 6 days. Speaking to way2barak, they informed that the dry langar was arranged for the 80 people in the memory of late Inderjit Singh who was a volunteer of Khalsa Aid International. They informed that Inderjit Singh was on his way to Bhatinda from Faridkot to bring PPE Kits for doctors and policemen. However, his life was cut short in a road accident. They wished that his sou may rest in peace.

It needs mention here that on 18 April too, Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha distributed food stuff among the poor and needy. They distributed the relief materials on learning about the miserable plight of some people from ‘Sanatan Unnayan Sangstha.’ At once, they rushed to Elgin Grant and gave grocery items to 130 families. The items which they gave included flour 3kg, pulses 1kg, potato 1 kg, onion 0.5 kg, mustard oil 0.5 litre, salt 1 packet and 1 soap.
