National Mathematics Day to be celebrated on 22 Dec by AAM at GC College

Dec. 19: The Cachar District Branch of Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM) will celebrate National Mathematics Day on 22 December, 2020 in association with the Department of Mathematics, Gurucharan College, Silchar at its Conference Hall. The day is celebrated all over India in order to commemorate the birthday of the legendary mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan.

The celebration by AAM Cachar branch will consist of two events. There will be a felicitation of two senior retired mathematics teachers of Cachar District. There will also be a mathematical quiz competition “Mathwiz” for students of Classes VIII to X. However, the screening test of the quiz will be held online on 20 December and five best teams will be shortlisted for the final quiz which will be held offline on the day of the event.
