Lakhipur Municipal Board awarded 1st rank as ‘Best Sustainable City’ in NE in Swachh Survekshan 2021

Nov. 20: It’s indeed a feather in the cap of Cachar district as Lakhipur Municipal Board has been awarded 1st rank as ‘Best Sustainable City’ in North East Zone (population category less than 25,000) in Swachh Survekshan 2021 under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).

It is in this connection that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India organised Swachh  Amrit Mahotsav at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Saturday. Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar received the award in New Delhi accompanied by Ruth Lienthang, ADC & i/c Lakhipur Sub-division and Executive Officer, Lakhipur Municpal Board along with Rajiv Chanda, CPO, SBM (Urban), Lakhipur Municipal Board.
