Cachar registers 13 new COVID-19 positive cases on Wednesday

July 8: On Wednesday, Cachar recorded 13 new COVID-19 cases. Out of the 13 positive cases declared in the 1st lot on Wednesday, 5 of them are from 68th Batallion, SSB Katigorah. They are Bikram Prasad (29), Anil Kumar barma (33), P. Khoukhaim (33), K.K. Basumatary (39) and Vikash Narzary (29). They were in quarantine centre at 68th Batallion, SSB Katigorah.

Another person, a 25-year-old male, Lakhi Singh, an employee of Green Heals Hospital in Silchar also tested positive. He seems to be in contact with COVID-19 positive patient Dr. Orina Raha.

7 more new positive cases are from Central Road, Silchar. They are Kabita Paul (70), Shyamal Ch Paul (72), Dipta Saha Paul (38), Somnath Paul (48), Suranjan Paul (11), Chinu Das (61). Another 27 years old Promota Bala Das has also tested positive. As per reports, out of these 7, five are from the same family and the rest 2 were their domestic help. An employee of Bharat Hardware owned by Shyamal Chandra Paul at Janiganj tested positive, after which the shop was also sealed. This employee got infected from his mother Supriti Paul. Following this, swab samples of all the family members of Shyamal Paul were taken. Finally, their reports came on Wednesday and all of them tested COVID-19 positive. They were taken to SM Dev Civil Das for treatment.
