Barak Valley Computer Traders distribute relief among 150 families
April 20: The outbreak of coronavirus has led to a global crisis. In order to contain the further spread of the deadly coronavirus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared 21-day lockdown which was then enhanced by another 19 days, till 3 May. Meanwhile, those whose livelihood depends on daily wage are finding it tough to make their both ends meet. To help such poor and needy persons, the Barak Valley Computer Traders Association has come forward to help people in crisis.
On Monday, the members of Barak Valley Computer Traders Association distributed essential commodities among 150 distressed families at Narayancherrs Tea Estate and Lamba Tilla Mahisha Khal in Cachar district. The items which they gave included, rice 5 kg, dal 2 kg, potato 2 kg, salt 1 packet and 1 soap. The food stuff were distributed fully observing the norms of social distancing as necessitated by COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to way2barak, Mamon Sharma, a member of the Association said, “Everywhere people are now locked inside the houses. There is no work. Those who are daily wage earners are finding it very difficult to lead their life. That is why we have taken this step of providing groceries to the people. Today we have given relief to 150 families. On Tuesday, we will again give relief materials to another 150 families at Gosain Gaon and Karati Gram. We know this is not enough, but we are trying our best to help the people as far as possible at this hour of crisis.”
