16 more tests positive in Cachar on Sunday, day’s total 22
July 12: On Sunday evening, 6 persons including a deceased lady were detected COVID-19 positive. However, later on in the night, another 16 persons from Cachar district were also reported as positive. Out of the 16 new cases, 9 of them are BSF personnel from Dholcherra, whereas 7 of them are civilians.
The seven civilians detected positive of Sunday are: Makend Ahmed Laskar (52), Saira Begum (45) and Sajida Begum (20 from Kanakpur Pt-1, Masuma Akthar Laskar (08) from Rajghat in Bahabazar, Cachar. All 4 of them are asymptomatic. They came in contact with high risk lab confirmed case. Their swab samples were collected on 9 July and the reports came on 12 July.
Three more persons were also diagnosed as COVID-19 positive cases. All of them are air passengers and they travelled from Bangalore to Silchar. They are Nazir Hussain Laskar (26) from Amraghat, Nur Islam Laskar (26) from Mohankhal, Sonai and Ela Hussain Laskar (26) from Amraghat. All of them were asymptomatic.
The rest 9 positive patients of them are BSF personnel from Dholcherra. They are Ashok Choudhury (52), RP Shukla (54), Narendra Kumar (53), Biman Ch Das (26), Surendra Paul (55), Ashok Kumar (53), Kishore Kumar (52), CP Shukla (54) and Darshan Singh (53). Out of these 9 persons, only 26-year-old Biman Ch. Das has a travel history from Pune. The other 8 were detected under Assam Targeted Surveillance Program (ATSP). Their swab samples were collected at Bikrampur BPHCon 9 July. They were tested positive on 12 July. All of them are asymptomatic.
