মিশনে গিয়ে ধর্ম নিয়ে ধন্দ কাটাল স্কুলছাত্ররা
Youth Conference held at Ramkrishna Mission, Silchar
রবিবার শিলচর রামকৃষ্ণ মিশন সেবাশ্রমে দুদিনের যুব শিবিরের উদ্বোধন হয়। প্রথম দিনে জেলার বিভিন্ন স্কুলের অষ্টম, নবম ও দশম শ্রেণির ছাত্রদের অনুষ্ঠান। ৩৫টি স্কুলের ৩০৬জন ছাত্রছাত্রী এ দিন উপস্থিত হয়। শিক্ষক-শিক্ষয়িত্রী ছিলেন ৪৭জন। সোমবার অংশ নেবে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক ও স্নাতক পর্যায়ের পড়ুয়ারা। প্রতি বছরই এই সময়ে মিশনের পক্ষ থেকে যুব শিবিরের আয়োজন করা হয়। এ বার স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের শিকাগো বক্তৃতার ১২৫ বছর বলে শিবিরে বিশ্ব ধর্ম সম্মেলনে স্বামীজির ঐতিহাসিক বক্তৃতাকেই থিম হিসেবে বেছে নেওয়া হয়। এরই সূত্র ধরে প্রশ্নোত্তর পর্বে ছাত্রছাত্রীরা ধর্ম সম্পর্কে নানা কথা জানতে চায়। গোয়ালিয়র রামকৃষ্ণ মিশনের মহারাজ স্বামী সুজয়ানন্দ প্রতিটি প্রশ্নের জবাব দেন। নানা উদাহরণের সাহায্যে বুঝিয়ে বলেন, সব ধর্মেরই মূল কথা এক। ঠাকুর রামকৃষ্ণ এবং স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের নানা উদ্ধৃতি টেনে বলেন, ধর্ম হিংসা ছড়ায় না। ছড়াতে পারে না। শেষে মহর্ষি বিদ্যামন্দিরের এক ছাত্রী বলেই ফেলে, ধর্ম নিয়ে প্রচুর ধন্দে ভুগছিল সে। মিশনে আসায় সে সবের অবসান হল।
মহারাজদের মন্ত্রোচ্চারণ এবং আবাসিক ছাত্রদের উদ্বোধনী সঙ্গীতের মাধ্যমে এ দিন শিবির শুরু হয়। স্বাগত বক্তব্য রাখেন শিলচর রামকৃষ্ণ মিশনের সচিব স্বামী গণধীশানন্দ মহারাজ। মূল পর্বে যাওয়ার আগে স্বামী বৈকুণ্ঠানন্দ মহারাজের পরিচালনায় কিছুসময় ধ্যান করে নেয় সবাই। এর পর মন্ত্রমুগ্ধের মতো সুজয়ানন্দ মহারাজের বক্তৃতা শোনেন সবাই। স্বামীজির শিকাগো ভাষণের নানা দিক তিনি অত্যন্ত প্রাঞ্জল ভাষার স্কুলপড়ুয়াদের সামনে তুলে ধরেন তিনি। জয়রামবাটির রামকৃষ্ণ মঠ মাতৃমন্দিরের স্বামী পররূপানন্দ মহারাজ শিক্ষায় মূল্যবোধের গুরুত্ব নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। তিনি বলেন, শিক্ষায় মূল্যবোধ না থাকলে কেউ মানুষ হতে পারে না। তাই তথাকথিত শিক্ষিত হলেই হবে না, মূল্যবোধে গুরুত্ব দিতে হবে। কাঁচাকান্তি বিদ্যামন্দিরের প্রধানশিক্ষক হরিহর চক্রবর্তীও মূল্যবান বক্তব্য রাখেন। আনুষ্ঠানিক ধন্যবাদ জানান কাছাড় কলেজের বাংলার বিভাগীয় প্রধান ড. রমা পুরকায়স্থ। দুদিনের যুব শিবির সুষ্ঠুভাবে পরিচালনায় রয়েছেন ড. অমৃতলাল ঘোষ, ড. অপ্রতীম নাগ, ড. রত্না দে, ড. রাজশ্রী পাল, ড. মৃদুলমোহন দাস, জয়দীপ পাল, মহামায়া দেব, অপর্ণা চক্রবর্তী, অভিজিত দে প্রমুখ।
The theme of the conference was 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic speech at the Parliament of World Religions in 1893 at Chicago. 306 students along with 47 teachers from 35 educational institutions of Cachar participated in this Youth Conference. The programme began with Vedic chanting by the monastic members of the Ramkrishna Mission Sevasram, Silchar. The boarders of Ramkrishna boys hostel performed the opening song.
The introductory address was given by Swami Ganadhishananda Maharaj, Secretary of Silchar Ramkrishna Mission Sevasram. In his speech, he said that, “Swamiji is known to be a prolific thinker, a great orator and a passionate patriot. Born in 1863, his teachings inspired a lot of young Indians and brought a spiritual awakening in the 19th century.” This was followed by a session on meditation under the guidance of Swami Vaikunthananda Maharaj, senior monastic member of Ramkrishna Mission Sevasram, Silchar.
Swami Sujayananda Maharaj from Ramakrishna Mission, Gwalior delivered the keynote address. He too brought out the essence of the historic speech delivered by Swamiji at Chicago and said that hundreds of lectures and books cannot teach us what we do not believe in. Our own conscience is what really matters. Swami Pararupananda Maharaj from Ramkrishna Math, Matri Mandir Jayrambhati spoke on the importance of values in education. The guest speaker of the day was Harihar Chakraborty, Headmaster of Kachakanti Vidyamandir, Udharbond, who spoke on Swaimiji and Youth of India in the light of the Chicago speech.
One student from each participating institution spoke on the theme for 2 minutes. The special feature of the Youth Conference was the question-answer session. The Swamijis answerd the questions raised by the students. This was followed by the feedback session based on the feedback of the participants. Dr. Roma Purkayastha, Head, Department of Bengali of Cachar College delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Dr. Apratim Nag, Assistant Professor of Department of Physics, G.C. College, Silchar.
