Youth Choir offers musical tribute to Radharaman Dutta

অসম সরকারের সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্রের উদ্যোগে ১৫ দিনের গ্রীষ্মকালীন কর্মশালা শেষ হল। গত ১১ আগস্ট শিলচর গান্ধীভবনে এর সমাপ্তি অনুষ্ঠান হয়। সমবেত সংগীত, একক সঙ্গীত ও ধামাইলের ডালি নিয়ে অনুষ্ঠানে হাজির হয়েছিলেন কর্মশালায় প্রশিক্ষিতরা। পাশাপাশি ছিল লোককবি, গীতিকার, লেখক রাধারমণ দত্তের উপর এক শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি অনুষ্ঠান। এই অনুষ্ঠানে সহযোগিতার হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয় শিলচর ইয়ুথ কয়্যার।

প্রদীপ প্রজ্জ্বলন করে অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা করেন কাছাড়ের জেলাশাসক ডাঃ এস লক্ষণন। এ উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে ছিলেন সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্রের অধিকর্তা নবাব এ হোসেন, শিলচর ইয়ুথ কয়্যারের সভাপতি রজত ঘোষ, সম্পাদক সন্তোষ চন্দ প্রমুখ। জেলাশাসক লক্ষ্মণন বলেন, কাছাড়ের মানুষ শুধু মনোরঞ্জনের জন্য অনুষ্ঠান বা সংস্কৃতি চর্চা করেন না। মনের টানে মানুষ এ সব করেন। ফলে সারা বছরেই এ ধরনের অনুষ্ঠান হয়ে থাকে। রাধারমণ দত্তের কর্মকান্ডের ওপর বক্তব্য রাখেন আমন্ত্রিত বক্তা দীপঙ্কর ঘোষ।

অনুষ্ঠানের দ্বিতীয় পর্বে শিলচর ইয়ুথ কয়্যারের শিল্পীরা উদ্বোধনী সংগীত পরিবেশন করেন। আমন্ত্রিত শিল্পীদল হিসেবে ছিল গান গেয়ে শোনান কলাক্ষেত্রম মিউজিক কলেজ, স্বাগতম শিল্পীগোষ্ঠী ও রবি-জুঁই সংগীত বিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ও শিল্পীরা। সমবেত ধামাইল নৃত্য পরিবেশন করে গোপেন্দ্র মেমোরিয়াল ইনস্টিটিউট। আকাশগঙ্গা সংস্থার প্রাচীন ধামাইল নৃত্য সবার প্রশংসা কুড়োয়। এ ছাড়া, এ দিন একক সংগীত পরিবেশন করেন অনিমেষ দেব, অমিতা চৌধুরী, রাজদুলালী ভৌমিক, শুভলক্ষ্মী চৌধুরী, গৌতম নন্দী, সংহিতা চক্রবর্তী, অভিষেক পাল, অপ্সরা শীল প্রমুখ।

অনুষ্ঠানের শেষে মোট ৭৫ জন শিল্পীর হাতে শংসাপত্র তুলে দেন নবাব এ হোসেন, অজয় কুমার রায়, দেবাশিস চৌধুরী এবং সন্তোষ চন্দ। অজয় কুমার রায় ও দেবাশিস চৌধুরীকে সংস্থার পক্ষ থেকে সম্মান জানানো হয়। রাধারমণ দত্তের উপর হওয়া কর্মশালার অন্যতম শিক্ষক অনিমেষ দেবকেও এ দিন সম্মান জানানো হয়। প্রথম পর্বের অনুষ্ঠান সঞ্চালনায় ছিলেন দেবাশিস পুরকায়স্থ। দ্বিতীয় পর্ব সঞ্চালনা করেন সমর দেব। শিল্পীদের তবলায় সহায়তা করেন সন্তোষ চন্দ, দিবাকর দাস ও বিশ্বজিত দেব। কি বোর্ডে ছিলেন শংকর বিশ্বাস। দোতারায় সুদর্শন নাথ, অক্টোপ্যাডে মনোতোষ দাস, পারকাসনে সত্যরঞ্জন রায় এবং কাহনে ছিলেন নির্মল রবিদাস।

A 15 day summer workshop organized under the aegis of the cultural centre of Assam government came to an end on 11 August at Gandhi Bhawan, Silchar. The trainees of the workshop present a bouquet of musical presentations which included group songs, solo songs, ‘dhamail dance’. A programme to commemorate the exploits of the folk poet cum lyricist Radharaman Dutta was also presented. The programme was successfully organized with active cooperation of Silchar Youth Choir. 

The programme began by lighting of the lamp by Dr. S. Laksmanan, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. The programme was graced by the presence of Nabab A. Hussain, an official of the Culture Centre of Assam government, Rajat Ghosh, President of Silchar Youth Choir and Santosh Chanda, its Secretary. In his speech, Dr. S. Laksmanan said that the people of this valley are lovers of art and artistic activities. They organise and arrange cultural programmes not merely for entertainment. Dipankar Ghosh, special invitee spoke on the career and achievements of Radharaman Dutta.

In the second part of the programme, the artists of Youth Choir presented the inaugural song. Other invitees who performed were Kalakhetram Music College, artists from Swagatam and Rabi-Jui Sangeet Vidyalaya. Group ‘dhamail’ dance was presented by the artists of Gopendra Memorial Institute. The traditional ‘dhamail’ performance by Akash Ganga Organisation won the hearts of all. Apart from these, solo songs were performed by Animesh Deb, Amita Choudhury, Rajdulali Bhoumick, Subhalakshmi Choudhury, Gautam Nandi, Sanghita Chakraborty, Abhishek Paul, Apshara Shil and others. 

At the end, a total of 75 artists were given certificates of participation by Nabab A. Hussain, Ajoy Kumar Roy, Debashish Choudhury and Santosh Chanda. Further, Debashish Choudhury and Ajoy Kumar Roy were also felicitated. Animesh Deb, resource person of the workshop on Radharaman Dutta was also felicitated. The anchor of the first and second phase of the programme were Debasish Purkayastha, and Samar Deb respectively. The artists were accompanied on Tabla by Santosh Chanda, Dibakar Das and Biswajit Deb. Shankar Biswas played the keyboard. The other accompanying artists were Sudarshan Nath in Dotara, Monotosh Das in Octopad, Satyaranjan Roy in percussion and Nirmal Rabidas in Kahan.
