ধর্ষণের অভিযোগে অভিযুক্ত রেল প্রতিমন্ত্রী রাজেন গোঁহাইর পদত্যাগ চেয়ে আজ শিলচরে সরব হল ইয়ুথ এগেনস্ট সোশ্যাল ইভিলস (ইয়াসি)। তাঁরা রাজেনবাবুর কুশপুতুল দাহ করেন। সভাপতি সঞ্জীব রায় বলেন, মন্ত্রিসভায় বহাল রেখে তদন্তের কথা অর্থহীন। মোদি সরকার বা বিজেপি দলের উচিত, এখনই তাঁকে মন্ত্রিত্ব থেকে সরিয়ে দেওয়া। নইলে মহিলাদের প্রতি সম্মানের জন্য নরেন্দ্র মোদির নানা কথা লোকদেখানোয় পর্যবসিত হবে।

এ দিকে, বরাক উপত্যকাতেও তিন বিধায়কের মধুচক্রে যোগদানের কথা ফাঁস হওয়ায় ইয়াসি-র পক্ষ থেকে উচ্চ পর্যায়ের তদন্ত দাবি করা হয়েছে। এরই মধ্যে অবশ্য মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সর্বানন্দ সোনোয়াল তিন বিধায়কের বিরুদ্ধে আনা অভিযোগ খতিয়ে দেখতে তদন্তের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন। কাছাড়ের পুলিশ সুপার রাকেশ রৌশন বলেন, অভিযোগকারীদের বক্তব্য রেকর্ড করা হয়েছে। তাঁরা এখন অভিযোগ অস্বীকার করছেন। তবে কোন প্রেক্ষিতে আগে তাঁদের নাম উল্লেখ করেছিলেন এবং কোনটা প্রকৃত সত্য তা জানতে তদন্ত চলছে।

Youth Against Social Evils (YASE) came to the streets to demand the resignation of Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain who has been accused of rape by a 28 year old married woman. They burnt the effigy of Mr. Rajen Gohain. Sanjib Roy, President of YASE said that an independent enquiry is not possible retaining Gohain in his portfolio. He said that the Modi government ought to have stripped off his ministerial berth so that neutral enquiry can be conducted. In the absence of such a drastic step, the BJP government cannot claim to be serious in matters related to crime against women.

FIR was registered under IPC sections 417 (cheating), 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) against Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain at Nagaon Police Station last week bearing the number 2592/18. The FIR was lodged by a 24-year old married woman in Nagaon. However, on the flip side, Mr Gohain has also filed complaints of blackmailing against the woman and her family. Though he refused to speak to the media, Sanjiv Goswami, the minister’s officer on special duty claimed that the case against the minister has been withdrawn and there is no case as of today and as of now.

On the other hand, YASI has also demanded a high level enquiry in the allegedly involvement of 3 MLAs of Barak Valley with a sex racket. In the meantime, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered to investigate the allegation against the 3 MLAs. Rakesh Roushan, Police Super of Cachar said that statements of complainants were recorded and his team is investigating the case seriously.
