YASE Women Wing organises awareness on drug abuse, to lead protest march on 28 June
June 24: The women wing of ‘Youth Against Social Evils’ (YASE) organised an awareness camp on drug abuse. The said awareness programme was organised in Annapurna Mandir, Silchar. Chief Convenor of YASE Women Wing, Bina Rana said that the menace of drugs, liquor and other substance abuse are very much prevalent in and around Annapurna Ghat locality. This is sapping the vitality of the youth.
To save the youth from the evils of drug abuse, YASE initiated a mass movement with the tag line: “Say No To Drugs.” In the said awareness programme, it was decided that YASE Women Wing along with a large number of women of the locality will lead a protest march on 28 June, 2019 from Annapurna Ghat area and then proceed towards the offices of Deputy Commissioner, Cachar and Police Superintendent, Cachar. They will also submit memorandum to the district and police administration seeking their immediate intervention so that all such anti-social activities can be immediately stopped at Annapurna Ghat area.
The meeting at Annapurna Temple was presided over by Bina Rana (Chief Convenor, Women Wing) in presence of Durga Moni Hajam (Convenor, Women wing), Dinesh Kahar (Joint Secretary YASE), Suparna Dubey Tewari (Executive member), Purobi Roy, Shilpi Chakraborty, Sabita Debnath, Sabita Das, Sweety Das and others.The chief speaker of the occasion was Sanjeev Roy, President of YASE Central Committee.
