X-Lab Production House to hold movie casting audition at Silchar on 19 October

October 14: To provide opportunity of acting in a movie to be made at Tollywood, X-Lab Production House will hold a movie casting audition at Silchar on 19 October at Kalpataru Hotel. Around 4 artists out of a total of 12 to 15 artists will be selected through an audition from Silchar. Male and female in any age category can give the audition free of cost. Further, those who will be selected to work in the film will not be charged any money by the production house. This was informed in a press meet held at Madhyasahar Auditorium on Monday by the Directors of the upcoming film.

“The film is all about female molestation and child abuse. It will indeed convey a great social message. There will be a total of 12 to 15 characters in the Art Film including big names like Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Biswajit Chakraborty. The film will have around 4 songs and the lead song will be sung by Rupankar Bagchi. The film belongs to the genre of suspense thriller and its duration will be around 2 hours.” This was informed by Amit Roy, the Director of the film.

Another Director, Bipro Das Gupta said, “The story of the film is written by Amit Roy. The name of the film will be finalised after the premier of the film in the month of December. We will start the shooting in December itself. As per our plans, it will take around 6 months time to complete the film. I will be mainly looking after the VFX & Editing part of the project. The film will be released sometimes in the month of June-July, 2019.

Speaking to newsmen, Amit Roy further said that as he and Bipro hails from Silchar, so they will strive to include atleast 4 artists from here. These four persons will be selected on the basis of their talents through an audition to be held on 19 October at 10 AM. Amit Roy also informed that he has worked in two popular Bengali serials aired in Zee Bangla- Rani Rashmoni and Seemarekha.

It needs mention that, last year they had conducted a workshop on acting, the mentor for which was renowned artist Biswajit Chakraborty. During the workshop, they announced that atleast 10 persons will be selected who will be provided an opportunity to work in Tollywood. They also promised to convene a press meet and announce the names of those who will get selected after the workshop. However, since then 14 months have elapsed, but they neither did any press meet nor did they announce the names.

When questioned about it, Amit Roy said, “Due to certain exigencies we were unable to do the press meet then but we have given chance to 10 artists who qualified in the workshop last year. Out of the workshop, 5 skilled persons were given chance to work in one of our short film ‘The Book’ and another group of 5 talents from Silchar also were given chance to work in our another short film ‘Paper’.
