Work for construction of 4-lane road from Rangirkhari to Medical begins

February 19: After much sufferings by the people of Silchar town, there is some good news for the inhabitants. Widening of road from Rangirkhari point to Silchar Medical College has commenced. On Wednesday, Silchar MLA Dilip Kumar Paul went in person and took stock of the work in progress.

The road from Ranghirkhari point to Medical point will be widened to 4 lane road. At present, the construction of side drains and footpath is going on. MLA Paul said that the work will be completed within the stipulated time. He also assured that the quality of work will be of high standard and he will personally inspect the ongoing construction from time to time.

MLA Paul also informed that a stretch of 18.5 kms of road from Silchar Medical college to Irongmara will also be commenced, which will be a 2-lane road. An amount of Rs.61 crore has been sanctioned for this purpose.
