April 12: By this time you definitely have heard the term “COVID-19 hotspot.” Are you wondering what does COVID-19 hotspot means? COVID-19 hotspot means any specific geographical area where six or more people are tested positive for coronavirus.
Now, those areas demarcated as “COVID-19 hotspot” has got certain limitations. Stepping out from home including visit to grocery and pharmacy, services like ATMs and Banks are prohibited for those whose area has been demarcated as “COVID-19 hotspot.”

So what are the activities which are allowed in “COVID-19 hotspot”? In such an area, home delivery of groceries and other essentials are allowed as none are allowed to go out of such containment zone. Further, ambulances and medical emergencies, door-to-door monitoring and sanitisation of the area is allowed.
Why is it necessary to declare an area as “COVID-19 hotspot”? When an area is declared as a “COVID-19 hotspot”, it becomes easier to identify and treat infected persons and to help prevent community spread of the deadly coronavirus.
