Woman recovered from Barak, treatment going on at Medical College

November 9: In a shocking incident, a women was spotted in an unconscious state in river Barak near SriGouri Hospital at Badarpur in Karimganj district. She was first noticed by a staff of a bamboo shop located on the banks of Barak. At once, he raised a hue and cry. People from the neighbourhood at once crowded near the river bank.

Immediately, information was given to the Officer in-charge of Badrpur Police Station B.K. Barman. Police reached the spot along with SDRF and recovered the lady from the river. Initially, she was taken to Srigouri hospital, but the doctors referred her to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).

The woman was identified as Minki Das, Wife of Sadhan Das, a resident of Mirzapur village. At present, she is under treatment at SMCH. Police are investigating into this matter.
