Water level of Barak at Annapurna Ghat decreasing at 21.45 mt at 8 PM on Wednesday

May 18: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak started to rise. From Wednesday morning, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was increasing rapidly. Since 10 AM on Wednesday, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was increasing by 6 cm per hour. However, at present the level is decreasing.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at 7 PM on Wednesday was flowing much above the danger level and was recorded at 21.45 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level was was decreasing here at 8 PM. This is the highest level of water (21.46 mt) at Annapurna Ghat recorded this year.

The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.
