Undated video viral in social media allegedly shows Tawang face-off between India and China near LAC!

way2barak, Dec.13: Social media platforms on Tuesday evening were full with videos of the Indian Armed Forces thrashing the Chinese PLA troops. In the video, it can be seen that the Indian troops are thrashing Chinese PLA soldiers who are trying to transgress. It shows the Chinese troops with spike batons, shields trying to transgress into the LAC but were thwarted by the Indian soldiers.

Several social media users shared the viral video claiming that it was from the December 9 incident between the armies of the two countries. However, the video has not been officially verified by the government. Making a statement in the Parliament, Union Minister Rajnath Singh said that no major injuries, no Indian soldier died in the face-off. The situation is under control.

Journalist Shiv Aroor tweeted the video, saying that while it is not clear when the video is from, it is certainly not from the December 9 incident. Another Twitter user, Major Amit Bansal (Retd), a geostrategic expert, responded to Arror’s tweet saying that it was an old video as the area around the Yangtze, where the recent clashes took place, remains in the snow during this time of the year.

Making a statement in both Houses of Parliament on the clash at Yangtse in Tawang sector, Rajnath Singh said: “The ensuing face-off led to a physical scuffle in which the Indian Army bravely prevented the PLA [People’s Liberation Army] from transgressing into our territory and compelled them to return to their posts. The scuffle led to injuries to a few personnel on both sides.”
