সানগ্লাস তো নয়ই,সঙ্গে জিন্সও পরা যাবে না। কর্মচারীদের উদ্দেশ্যে এই নতুন নির্দেশ ত্রিপুরার বিজেপি সরকারের। এমনিতেই একের পর এক বিতর্কিত মন্তব্যের জেরে ত্রিপুরার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বিপ্লব দেব গত কিছুদিন থেকে সংবাদ শিরোনামে রয়েছেন। এবার রাজ্য সরকারের এই নয়া নির্দেশে ফের আলোচনার কেন্দ্রবিন্দুতে ত্রিপুরা।

ত্রিপুরার সরকারি আমলাদের এবার কার্যালয়ে যাওয়ার সময় ড্রেসকোড মেনে চলতে হবে। এখন থেকে আর কার্যালয়ে যাওয়ার সময় জিন্স, কার্গো প্যান্ট এবং সানগ্লাস পরা যাবে না। ত্রিপুরার বিজেপি-আইপিএফটি সরকার এক চিঠিতে জানিয়ে দিয়েছে, আমলাদের এসব বাদ দিয়েই চলতে হবে। ওই চিঠিতে আরও বলা হয়েছে যে, কিছু আমলা কার্যালয়ে বৈঠক চলাকালীন সময়ে নিজেদের মোবাইল ফোনে মেসেজ পড়া এবং পাঠানোয় ব্যস্ত থাকেন। এসব করলে অন্যদের অসম্মানিত করা হয়, তাই এ ধরনের আচরণ বাদ দিতে হবে।

ত্রিপুরার রাজস্ব, শিক্ষা, তথ্য এবং সংস্কৃতি বিভাগের প্রিন্সিপাল সেক্রেটারি সুশীল কুমার ওই চিঠিতে আমলাদের পরামর্শ দিয়েছেন যে, রাজ্যস্তরের কোনও বৈঠকে পৌরোহিত্য করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী, উপমুখ্যমন্ত্রী, মুখ্য সচিব প্রমুখ অথবা কোনও উচ্চপদস্থ সরকারি কর্তা। ফলে বৈঠকে যাতে তাঁদের সম্মানহানি না হয়, সেজন্য সরকারি আমলাদের ড্রেসকোড মেনে চলতে হবে।

রাজ্যের বিপ্লব দেব সরকারের এই নির্দেশের ফলে বিভিন্ন মহল থেকে প্রতিক্রিয়া ব্যক্ত করা হয়েছে। বিরোধী সিপিএম এবং কংগ্রেস এই ইস্যুতে সরকারের সমালোচনা করেছে। ত্রিপুরা প্রদেশ কংগ্রেস উপ-সভাপতি তাপস দে বলেছেন, এই নির্দেশে সরকারের হীনমন্যতা প্রতিফলিত হয়েছে। সিপিএম মুখপাত্র গৌতম দাস সরকারের এই নির্দেশের সমালোচনা করে বলেছেন, এটি ব্রিটিশ ঔপনিবেশিকতাবাদকে ফের মনে করিয়ে দিয়েছে।
এর আগে ২০১৫ সালের অক্টোবরে মধ্যপ্রদেশ সরকার আমলাদের ড্রেসকোডের বিষয়ে পরামর্শ দিয়েছিলেন। এতে বলা হয়েছিল যে, সরকারি কোনও অনুষ্ঠানে আমলারা যেন জিন্স ও সানগ্লাস পরে না আসেন।

It’s time for the bureaucrats of Tripura to change their wardrobe. They will now have to part away with jeans, cargo pants and sunglasses. Tripura’s ruling BJP-IPFT government has issued a memorandum advising bureaucrats to avoid jeans, denim wear, and sunglasses while on official duty. The memorandum also pointed out that a few officials read and send messages on their mobile phones during meetings, which is a mark of disrespect and they should avoid it.

The memorandum issued by Principal Secretary for Revenue, Education and Information and Cultural Affairs Sushil Kumar advised officials that in the state level official meeting which are chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Dy. CM, Ministers, Chief Secretary etc. or other high level official meetings due regards needs to be given to the dress code.

The order has come in for severe criticism from opposition parties CPM and Congress. Tripura Pradesh Congress vice president, Tapas Dey, said the order reflects the “feudal mentality” of the government. CPM spokesperson Goutam Das criticised the memo and said it was reminiscent of colonial rule under the British.

Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh government had issued an advisory in October 2015, asking officials not to wear jeans and sunglasses during official functions.
