৪ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ নির্বিঘ্নে ট্রেন চলল পাহাড় লাইনে। ২৪ ঘণ্টার পার্বত্য জেলা বনধে ট্রেন চলাচলে কোনও বাধার সৃষ্টি করা হয়নি। প্রকৃত অর্থে, মঙ্গলবার কোথাও কোনও পিকেটার বার হয়নি। তবু বনধে সাড়া ছিল ব্যাপক।

ডিমা হাসাও, কার্বি আংলং ও পশ্চিম কার্বি আংলং জেলাকে নিয়ে পৃথক রাজ্যের দাবিতে এই বনধের ডাক দিয়েছিল স্বশাসিত রাজ্য দাবি কমিটি, কার্বি ছাত্র সংস্থা সহ আরও কিছু স্থানীয় সংগঠন। এই বনধের প্রেক্ষিতে কোথাও কোনও দোকানপাট খোলা হয়নি। চলেনি যানবাহন। অফিস-আদালতও বন্ধই ছিল। এমনকী জেলাশাসকের কার্যালয়, স্বশাসিত পরিষদের সদর দফতরেও কোনও কর্মচারী উপস্থিত হননি। ব্যাঙ্ক-ডাকঘর-শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের তালাও খোলা হয়নি। সরকারি তরফে অবশ্য বনধ বিরোধিতায় কোনও বক্তব্য ছিল না। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, বনধ ঘিরে তিন জেলার কোথাও কোনও অপ্রীতিকর ঘটনার খবর নেই।

September 4: Amidst the 24-hour bandh on Tuesday called by Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) in the districts of Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong, railway services were quite normal. Not a single picketer could be seen in action, yet the response to the bandh was overwhelming.

Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) has called for the 24-hour bandh in demand for a separate state comprising of the hill districts of Assam. Though in the recent past, ASDC was carrying on their agenda in a slow pace but now once again their demand has gained momentum. All shops and markets remained closed. Vehicular traffic also ceased to ply on the roads. Even the office of the Deputy Commissioner and headquarters of the Autonomous Council gave a deserted look. Banks, post offices and educational institutions were also closed. Life came to a standstill. However, no statement was given by the government in this regard. No untoward incident was reported from anywhere.
