২৭ জানুয়ারিঃ এক মারপিটের অভিযোগ ঘিরে সকালে-বিকালে থানা ঘেরাও চলছে রাঙ্গিরখাড়িতে। শিবকলোনিতে বিজেপি কর্মীকে মারধরের অভিযোগে রবিবার সকালে বিজেপির পক্ষ থেকে থানায় গিয়ে বিক্ষোভ দেখানো হয়। সন্ধ্যা নামতেই একই ঢঙে থানায় গিয়ে হাজির হন কংগ্রেসিরা। তাঁরা পুর সদস্য সজল বণিকের পক্ষে সাফাই গেয়ে স্মারকপত্র দেন। অভিযোগ করেন, বিজেপি কর্মীরা অতিরঞ্জিত করে রাজনৈতিক ফয়দা লুটতে চাইছে।

তাদের কথায়, বিজেপি প্রতিটি ঘটনাকে রাজনৈতিক রঙ চড়ানোর চেষ্টা করেন। উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিতভাবে সজল বণিকের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ দাঁড় করায়। কয়েকমাস আগে দুর্ঘটনায় স্কুটিচালকের মৃত্যুর ঘটনাকেও টেনে আনেন তাঁরে। তাঁরা বলেন, দুই পক্ষে মারপিটের পরিস্থিতি সৃষ্টি হলে বড় ভাই স্থানীয় ব্যক্তি হিসেবে সজলবাবু বিবাদ মেটাতে যান। তাঁরা পুলিশের কাছে নিরপেক্ষ তদন্ত দাবি করেন।

January 27: In a dramatic development, Rangirkhari Town Police Outpost (TOP) witnessed waves of people both in the morning and also in the evening. On the allegation of physical assault of its party supporter at Shib Colony, BJP held a protest demonstration at Rangirkhari TOP on Sunday morning. However, in the evening, Congress party workers gheraoed the said police station. They gave a memorandum in favour of Ward Commissioner of Shib Colony area and congress leader Sajal Banik. It was alleged that the BJP supporters have exaggerated things and were trying to gain political mileage out of the issue.

They further alleged that BJP is in the habit of making mountain out of a hole. They try to colour each and every incident in falsehood. They said that the saffron brigade is in the habit of accusing Sajal Banik intentionally. They cited an instance from the recent past where in an incident of scooty accident BJP framed Sajal Banik without any basis. They told that in the present incident, when two groups were quarreling, Sajal banik being a senior intervened and tried to make peace. They demanded a neutral investigation by the police in this matter.
