Time of Chief Minister’s programme on Environment Day at Silchar deferred due to Eid

৪ জুনঃ বিশ্ব পরিবেশ দিবসের সরকারি অনুষ্ঠান বুধবার সকালে শুরু হচ্ছে না। বেলা ২টায় বৃক্ষপূজনের মাধ্যমে এর সূচনা হবে। বিকেল ৩টায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী সর্বানন্দ সোনোয়াল শিলচরে পরিবেশ দিবসের রাজ্য কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নেবেন। রাজ্যের বন ও পরিবেশ মন্ত্রী পরিমল শুক্লবৈদ্য সাংবাদিকদের ডেকে এই খবর দেন।

তিনি জানান, বুধবার ইদ। ইসলাম ধর্মাবলম্বীরা সকালে ইদগাহে গিয়ে নামাজ আদায় করবেন। নানা আনন্দানুষ্ঠানে সামিল হবেন। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সফর বা বড়সড় সরকারি অনুষ্ঠানের দরুন যেন তা কোনওমতে বিঘ্নিত না হয়, সে জন্য অনুষ্ঠানটি একটু পিছিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে।

বিশ্ব পরিবেশ দিবসের রাজ্য স্তরের অনুষ্ঠান এই বছর শিলচরে হচ্ছে। তাতে বরাক উপত্যকার অন্য দুই জেলাকেও সামিল করা হয়েছে। অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ নিতে এরই মধ্যে শিলচরে এসে পৌঁছেছেন অতিরিক্ত মুখ্যসচিব রবি কাপুর, বনবিভাগের প্রিন্সিপাল চিফ কনজারভেটর এএম সিং, দূষণ নিয়ন্ত্রণ পর্ষদের চেয়ারম্যান ওয়াই সূর্যনারায়ণ, একে জহুরি, রঞ্জনা গুপ্তা প্রমুখ শীর্ষকর্তারা। পরিমলাবাবুর সঙ্গে তাঁরা আজ সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে অংশ নেন।

June 4: The official programme of state government on the occasion of World Environment Day has been deferred by some hours. At 2 PM, the said programme will kick start with worshiping of trees. At 3 PM, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will take part in the government programme in connection with Environment Day. This was informed to the media by state Forest Environment Minister Parimal Suklabaidya.

He said that the festival of Eid is on 5 June and so the Muslim community will go to mosques in the morning to offer special prayers and will also be involved in various festivities. It is in this backdrop that the time of the official programme has been deferred by the state government.

It needs mention here that the official programme of state government in connection with World Environment Day will take place at Silchar this year. The two other districts of Barak valley has also been involved in this occasion. Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary Ravi Kapoor, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Department, M.M. Singh, Chairman of Pollution Control Board Y. Suryanarayan, A.K. Jahuri, Ranjana Gupta and others has already reached Silchar. They have participated in a press meet along with Parimal Suklabaidya.
