The world loves talent but rewards character, says Prof. Ved Prakash in Foundation Day of Tezpur Univ

January 22: “The world loves talent but rewards character”. This was asserted by Prof. Ved Prakash noted academician & former chairperson of the University Grants Commission (UGC) while addressing the august gathering during the 27th Foundation Day of Tezpur University on Tuesday. He made this observation while speaking on the need for values and ethics in teaching.

Speaking on the role of the universities, Prof. Ved Prakash highlighted, “What happens on the campuses is very important. The role & functions of a university cannot be identical. It must differ from each other but at the same time they must offer liberal education.”

The event started with hoisting of the University’s flag by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vinod Kumar Jain in the presence of other dignitaries and guests. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Kuladhar Saikia, former Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam and president-elect of Asom Sahitya Sabha. Prof. Debabrata Das, Chairperson, organizing committee for the Foundation Day celebrations delivered the vote of thanks.
