The Apostle’s Club Malugram almost ready with a grand Kali Puja pandal

October 26: The grandeur with which the Apostle Club decorates their Kali Puja Pandal is known almost to all the people of Silchar. Every year they base their pandal on a theme. Interestingly, the theme which Apostle selects contains a serious message to the society at large. Keeping with this tradition, this year too, they have come up with grand preparation this year also. This was informed in a press meet organised by The Apostle’s on Friday evening.

The club members informed that theur puja pandal will be inaugurated on 27 October, 2019. The pandal will be inaugurated by an army man. This year, Apostle will lay stress on the theme of prohibition of the use of plastic. President of The Apostle’s Saptajit Dey, President of the Puja Committee Arindam Sikidar, General Secretary Kishan Das and others present in the press meet informed that just by merely banning plastic carry bags is not enough. There should be some alternative to plastic. These alternative materials wich can be used in lieu of plastic will also be demonstrated in their Puja pandal.

Along with this, they also appealed to the people at large to be extra cautious while burning crackers. They urged not to burn fire crackers on the road which may cause trouble to the passers-by.

The members of Apostle’s said with confidence that their puja pandal will be a dreamland for the onlookers. They are on the final stage of decoration. Rain has failed to dampen their spirit and the members are working day and night to offer their best and keep up to the expectations of the people.

The Apostle’s Club has stepped into their 31st year. This year there will also be cultural programme on 29 and 30 October. The total budget is estimated at Rs.6 lakh. They said that they are prepared to receive a huge crowd this year also in their puja pandal. Others who spoke during the press meet were Cultural Secretary of the Club Joydeep Chakraborty, Parthankar Choudhury, Sandipan Dutta Purkayastha among others.
