Teenage boy & girl found hanging from a tree at Dwigun Tea Estate in Udharbond

March 17: In a bizarre incident, two teenage boy and a girl were found hanging from a tree in a somewhat isolated place at Dwigun Tea Estate under Udharbond constituency of Cachar district. On Tuesday, local people suddenly noticed a boy and a girl hanging from a huge tree inside the tea estate area. At once a hue and cry was raised. Police was also informed.

Police reached the spot. With the help of the people, the two dead bodies were brought down from the tree. The deceased were later on identified as Bibek Bhumij (15) and Kalpana Bhumij (14). The dead bodies were then taken for autopsy. Investigation by the police in order to ascertain the cause of death is on. However, based on prima facie evidence, it was suggested that love affair unapproved by the family may be the cause of their death. As per police sources, nothing could be said at this juncture until the investigation is compete.
