Technically empowered volunteers to operate 24,000 water supply schemes: CM Assam
Feb. 13: In order to boost the concept of ‘Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal’ under Jal Jeevan Mission, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma interacted with stakeholders and P&RD & PHE officials on utilisation of Tied Fund under 15th Finance Committee Grants. During the occasion, Chief Minister Dr Sarma further stated that technically empowered volunteers will be selected to operate 24,000 water supply schemes and formation of Water User Committees to look after maintenance protocol.
Taking to his tweeter handle, the Chief Minister wrote, “By providing “Har ghar nal ka jal” under Jal Jeevan Mission, our @narendramodi ji led Govt has brought transformation in rural India. To further boost the Mission in Assam, I interacted with stakeholders and P&RD & PHE officials on utilisation of Tied Fund under 15th Fin Comm Grants.”
He further stated, “I emphasised on selection of technically empowered volunteers for operating 24,000 water supply schemes & formation of Water User Committees to look after maintenance protocol. Through building schemes in each village, we’ve to fulfil JJM motto ‘no one is left out’.”
