২১ ফেব্রুয়ারিঃ ২০০৭ সালের এক মামলায় গ্রেফতার হলেন কাশীপুর বাগানের ডেপুটি ম্যানেজার লালমোহন লোহার। তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ, তিনবার নোটিশ পাঠানো হলেও তিনি আদালতে হাজির হননি। তাই তার বিরুদ্ধে গ্রেফতারি পরোয়ানা জারি করে আদালত।

লালমোহনবাবু বর্তমানে কাশীপুরে চাকরি করলেও মামলাটি ছিল লক্ষ্মীপুর মহকুমার দিলখুশ চা বাগানের। শ্রমিকদের প্রভিডেন্ট ফান্ডের টাকা জমা না করায় মামলা দায়ের হয় তখন। পরবর্তী সময়ে দিলখুশ বাগানের মালিক অনিল গোয়েঙ্কাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছিল।

লালমোহনবাবুর বক্তব্য, ১২ বছরে কোনওদিন কেউ তাঁকে বলেননি, তিনিও মামলায় সহ-অভিযুক্ত। তা ছাড়া, তিনি অভিযুক্ত হলে এতদিন কেন গ্রেফতার করা হল না। তিনবার নোটিশ পাঠানোর কথা বলা হলেও লালমোহনবাবু জানান, তিনি এ পর্যন্ত কোনও নোটিশ পাননি।

পুলিশের বক্তব্য, তাঁরা শুধু আদালতের নির্দেশ পালন করেছেন। কথা যা আছে, আদালতেই বলতে হবে।

February 21: Deputy Manager of Kashipur Tea Estate, Lalmohan Lohar was arrested in a case which was registered in 2007. Court served Mr. Lohar arrest warrant after he abstained from appearing in the court inspite of the fact that he was sent notice thrice. Though Mr. Lalmohan is at present working in Kashipur Tea Estate, the the case was registered against him in 2007 when he was working in Dilkhush Tea Estate.

The case was registered on the ground that the provident fund (PF) of the tea labourers were not deposited. At that period of time, the Anil Goenka, the owner of Dilkhush Tea Estate was also arrested. However, Lalmohan Lohar said that in the last 12 years none informed him that he was also a co-accused in this case.

He further raised the question that, if at all he was accused, then why was he not arrested in the past. As regards sending notice for three times, Mr. Lalmohan said that he has not received any notice as of now.

On the other hand, police said that they were just following the orders of the court. Whatever clarification Mr. Lalmohan needs to give should be done in the court.
