Swarnojyoti Foundation’s ‘Save the Planet campaign’ earn laurels
June 6: In one way or another, human beings are behind the misery caused by various natural calamities. Mankind did not pay much attention to the environment in pursuit of his/her own narrow interests. This has often resulted in floods, landslide, epidemics etc. It is high time, that humankind ought to be more environmental conscious and thereby save our planet from further destruction.
It is from this viewpoint, that Swarnojyoti Foundation has launched a new project “Save the Planet, Save the Environment Campaign”. As part of this campaign, an online poster drawing competition was organizedon the theme ‘Save the Planet/ Environment’. The poster drawing competition was organised by the Foundation on its Facebook Page. Posters were sent by participants from Bihar, Odisa, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Maharashtra Tripura, Assam, West Bengal etc.
The results of the online poster competition was declared on 5 June on World Environment Day. In the first category, Dikshant Kumar won first position and Sajal Jain won second place. In the second category, Pinak Dey and Rajesh Kumar won first and second places respectively. The judge of the competition Ankan Kangsha Banik selected 5 winners in each category. Swarnali Bhattacharjee (Founder & Secretary), Rashmoni Roy, Trideep Bhattacharya and Manash Bhattacharjee were the Project Coordinators. 10 winners were given e-certificates and the prizes will be given soon.
As a second step of their campaign, the members of the organization planted trees on the World Environment Day. The organization said that the campaign to save nature is not going to end there and more new steps will be taken in future under.
