Surprise raids in gambling den at Kathal Road Silchar, 2 arrested

October 20: Since a fortnight, Cachar Police has geared up and is conducting regular raids against illegal activities in various parts of the district. On the night of 19 October, 2019, a raid was again conducted successfully by Cachar Police.

On Saturday night, the raid was conducted by SI(P) Nilam Sanjib Nath and riding squad staff of Rangirkhari Town Out Post at Silchar Kathal Road area, the backside of Maharshi Vidya Mandir. As a result, they caught two persons red-handed with gambling materials.

The two persons apprehended were identified as Gulejur Ali Laskar and Ali Ahmed. Materials used in gambling were seized from their possession. A case was registered at Silchar Police Station against them vide case No. 3658/19,U/S 14 of AGBP Act. Both of them were produced before the judiciary.
