Students caught cheating in upcoming HS Exam likely to be suspended for a year
February 10: This year Board of Secondary Education (SEBA), Assam have adopted stringent measures for adopting unfair means during HSLC examination. Those found cheating will be expelled for a period of 3 years. Following SEBA, Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) too has adopted strict measures if found copying during the forthcoming Higher Secondary (HS) exam.
As per a report published by GPlus, students caught cheating, carrying mobile phones and disobeying invigilators during HS examination would face a suspension for one year straight. It was further reported that that a special committee of the AHSEC will examine the cheating cases and might extend the period of expulsion.
This year, a total of 2,34,809 students will appear for the Higher Secondary examinations which are to be held from 12 February to 14 March, 2020. Out of 2,34,809 students, 1,175,175 will appear in the Arts stream, 40,588 in Science stream while 18,178 students will appear in the Commerce stream examinations. HS examination will be conducted at 772 centres throughout the state of Assam.
