State govt employees to get 7 days leave if infected with Covid, to join on 8th day: Assam Cabinet

Jan. 19: Along with the rest of the populace, many state government employees also were detected as Covid-19 positive. However, all these days, since the outbreak of coronavirus, there was no specific regulations as regards the number of days in which a state government can be on leave after being infected by Covid. The Cabinet Meeting held in Haflong on Wednesday took specific decisions in this regard.

During a press briefing after the Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that from now onwards any state government employee, if infected with Covid will get maximum leave for seven days. He/she shall have to join his/her respective office on the 8th day. The CM, however, added that it would be compulsory for the employee to resume coming to his work place on the 8th day, unless otherwise they are admitted in hospital.
