Show-cause issued to firm for slow Aadhar enrollment in Assam

November 29: The State General Administration Department (GAD) enrolled six firms to complete Aadhar enrollment work within a year. The work began in the State on October 6, 2018. For this purpose, 1,241 Aadhaar enrollment centres have been opened in the State.

However, it has been found that the progress of Aadhar enrollment by some of the firms is very slow – beyond the limit. As such, the GAD has issued show-cause notice to a firm engaged in the task. It has been learnt that other firms are also likely to get such notice.

GAD Commissioner-Secretary M Angamuthu expressed concern as per day Aadhar enrollment of some of the centres under is less than 20. CIIM Services Pvt Ltd, Guwahati  was served show cause notice for this purpose and were asked to state the reason for such slow enrollment.

Assam was divided into ten zones for the implementation of Aadhaar under the supervision of the GAD. All the 1,241 Aadhaar enrollment centres in the state is under the charge of a state government official who is supposed to verify all relevant documents. Further, the Deputy Commissioners were entrusted the responsibility of monitoring the progress of implementation in their respective district.
