Section 144 CrPC promulgated within 500-metre radius of firing range in Hailakandi

March 17: Section 144 of CrPC will be in force at the District Firing Range located at Serispore Tea Estate under Panchgram Police Station in Hailakandi district on Wednesday and Thursday. The district administration has decided to clamp Section 144 within a radius of 500 metres of the firing range as a preventive measure to ensure that no person enters during firing practice by personnel of A-Coy 147 Battalion.

The prohibitory order will be in force from 6 am to 4 pm in the said area on those days. An order to this effect was issued by Additional District Magistrate RK Dam on Monday.
