RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat wants govt to enact law for ‘2 children policy’
January 19: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat over his “two children policy” said that law for two children should be brought in to ensure proper development of the country. Mohan Bhagwat is currently on a four-day visit to Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad. He said this while addressing “Bhavishya Ka Bharat” in Bareilly.
After a successful campaign to rally support for a Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has said, “We have been advocating this for quite some time now and want that the country should have a policy on the number of children a couple can have. But then it is for the Centre to take a call and decide whether it wants to enact a law on the issue”
Addressing a gathering at the Moradabad Institute of Technology (MIT), RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that he will support any law that calls for two children only. Bhagwat added that the policy will be applicable for all and was not in relation to any ‘particular religion’.
To back his assertion, Bhagwat said that India is a developing country and that an uncontrolled burst of population growth here is not healthy for the nation’s development.
Hitting back at RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat over his “two children policy” demand, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said the real problem in this country is unemployment, not population.
