রাতেও প্রশাসনিক ভবনের সামনে ধর্নায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গবেষকরাResearch Scholars of Assam University continue their agitation even at night
৫ মার্চ : দাবি পূরণে ২৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি পর্যন্ত চরমসীমা বেঁধে দিয়ে উপাচার্যকে স্মারকলিপি দিয়েছিল আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় গবেষক সংস্থা। কিন্তু কর্তৃপক্ষ তাতে আমল না দেওয়ায় এ বার সংস্থা জোরদার আন্দোলনে নেমে পড়েছে। গত কয়েকদিন দফায় দফায় আন্দোলন হলেও মঙ্গলবার থেকে অনির্দিষ্টকালের আন্দোলন শুরু হয়েছে। ফলে সারা দিন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শ্রী রামমোহন রায় প্রশাসনিক ভবনের সামনে ধর্ণা কর্মসূচি পালন করেছেন গবেষকরা। দিন গড়িয়ে রাত হলেও তারা এই আন্দোলনে বিরতি দেননি।
গবেষক সংস্থার পক্ষে সাফ বলা হয়েছে, আন্দোলন ছাড়া তাদের সামনে আর কোনও বিকল্প নেই। কারণ কিছুদিন আগে থেকেই এ ব্যাপারে তারা কর্তৃপক্ষকে জানিয়েছিলেন। আন্দোলনে না গিয়ে যাতে তাদের দাবিদাওয়া আদায় হয়, সে চেষ্টা করেছেন। কিন্তু বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তাদের প্রতি কোনও সহমর্মিতা দেখায়নি।
সংস্থার সভাপতি মিলন দাস জানিয়েছেন, ২০১৭-১৮ ও ২০১৮-১৯ সালের নন-নেট ফেলোশিপের টাকা তাদের এখনও দেওয়া হয়নি। এ ব্যাপারে কর্তৃপক্ষ তাদের বেশ কয়েকবার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন। তার বাইরে আর কিছু নয়। তিনি জানান, মঙ্গলবার প্রশাসনিক ভবনের গেট বন্ধ করে দিয়ে তারা আন্দোলনে নেমেছেন। বুধবার থেকে প্রয়োজনে আন্দোলন আরও জোরদার করা হতে পারে।
সংস্থা আরও কয়েকটি দাবির প্রতিও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষের নজর কেড়েছে। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে অ্যাকাডেমিক কাউন্সিলে গবেষক প্রতিনিধি নিয়োগ করা, রিসার্চ স্কলারদের ভর্তি সংক্রান্ত সমস্যা সমাধান এবং মাইক্রো বায়োলজি বিভাগ থেকে স্কুল অব টেকনোলজি পর্যন্ত বেহাল সড়ক সংস্কার করা। আন্দোলনে প্রচুর সংখ্যক গবেষক অংশ নেন।
As such, the association has resorted to the path of agitation. Though they started their agitation in brief spells but since Tuesday, indefinite agitation was launched by them. The Research Scholars Association sat for dharna near the entrance of Raja Ram Mohan Roy Administrative building of the varsity. They continued their protest demonstration even after dusk.
The Research Scholars Association has made it clear that agitation was the last resort and they had no other options left. They were of the view that all democratic means of achieving their demands were exhausted due to the non-cooperation of the administration. They alleged that the University has failed to give a positive thought to their ‘legitimate’ demands.
Milon Das, President of the Assam University Research Scholars Association informed that they were yet to receive the Non-NET Fellowship of 2017-18 and 2018-19. In this regard, the University authorities have promised them several times that the said Fellowship amount would soon be released. However, the University did not act upon their promises. As such, they had no way left but to launch an agitation. Milon Das said that on Tuesday they have resorted to agitation by locking the gate of the administrative building. He further hinted that on Wednesday, the agitation might assume a vigorous outlook.
The Research Scholars Association has also sought the attention of the University authorities in some other aspects, which are: inclusion of representative of Research Scholars Association in the Academic Council, to solve the admission related problems of the research scholars and to repair the dilapidated road which connects the Microbiology department with that of Technology. A good number of research scholars participated in the agitation on Tuesday.
