Rashtra Bhasa Manch gives relief to 50 distressed families
April 21: The Barak Valley chapter of Rashtra Bhasa O Chay Janagosti Unnayan Manch has come forward in this lockdown period and have distributed food commodities among 50 poor tea garden families of Kharil Tea Estate under Borkhola constituency in Cachar. On Tuesday, the members of the Mancha went there and distributed grocery items maintaining the norms of social distancing.
The tea garden went into lock out since many years and this has further impoverished the tea labourers of the area. They were reportedly on the brink of starvation. It is in this backdrop that the Manch selected 50 beneficiaries from this spot. Essential grocery items were provided to these people. Dilip Kumar, the Chief Convenor of the Manch said that, “We will continue to identify some such sick gardens and provide food stuff to the needy workers there very soon.”
Present during the relief distribution were the Chief Convenor of the Rashtra Bhasa O Chay Janagosti Unnayan Manch, Dilip Kumar, Convenor Sanjeev Roy, Pradip Goswami, Sewkumar Dusad, Ritesh Nunia, Raju Giri among others.
