Rahul Gandhi arrested while protest at CBI headquarters

২৬ অক্টোবর : কংগ্রেস সভাপতি রাহুল গান্ধী সহ দলের বেশ কয়েকজন নেতাকে গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ। শুক্রবার নতুন দিল্লিতে সিবিআই হেড কোয়ার্টারের সামনে ধর্ণা কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করেছিল কংগ্রেস। সিবিআই প্রধান অলোক ভার্মাকে অবৈধভাবে অপসারণ করার অভিযোগ এনে এই প্রতিবাদ কর্মসূচিতে সামিল হয়েছিলেন কংগ্রেস নেতারা।

এই প্রতিবাদ কর্মসূচির নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন কংগ্রেস সভাপতি রাহুল গান্ধী ও রাজস্থানের প্রাক্তন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী অশোক গেহলট। দুই নেতাই দয়াল সিং কলেজ থেকে এক প্রতিবাদ মিছিলের নেতৃত্ব দিয়ে আসেন সিবিআই হেড কোয়ার্টারে। শুক্রবার গ্রেফতারের পর রাহুল গান্ধী প্রতিক্রিয়ায় বলেন, সরকার যত বার চায় ততবার তাঁকে গ্রেফতার করতে পারে, তবে তিনি সত্যকে লুকিয়ে রাখবেন না।

October 26: In a major development, Congress President Rahul Gandhi along with other leaders of the party was arrested today by the police. The Congress was holding a demonstration in front of the CBI headquarters in New Delhi on Friday. Congress was protesting against the ‘illegal’ removal of CBI chief Alok Verma.

The protest demonstration was led by the Congress President Rahul Gandhi and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Both of them led the protest march from Dyal Singh College, Delhi to the CBI headquarters. After being detained Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that the government can detain him as many times as they want but they cannot hide the truth. Sushmita Dev, MP Silchar was also detained at Lodhi colony Police Station along with Rahul Gandhi.
