Puja Pandal of Ambicapur Purba Para inaugurated by SP Ramandeep Kaur on Sunday
Oct 11: “I take the privilege of announcing that I am the 101th Superintendent of Police of Cachar district and today I have been invited by by the Puja Committee to inaugurate their 102 years old puja. Indeed it is like a history and I am privileged to be a part of this moment, said Ramandeep Kaur, SP Cachar while cutting the ribbon and inaugurating the Durga Puja Pandal of Ambicapur Purba Para, Silchar.
Expressing his views, Tamal Kanti Banik, President of Ambicapur Purba Para, Silchar said, “It’s a happy moment to witness as our Puja this year has stepped into its 102nd year. I pray to Goddess Durga to shower her blessings on all and get rid of Covid-19. He urged upon the people to enjoy Durga Puja while obeying the Covid-19 protocols.”
The moment the pandal was inaugurated, the sound of Dhak mesmerised all thereby creating the perfect settings of Durga Puja. This year Dhak players from Birbhum have been roped in by Ambicapur Purba Para who will enthrall all with their unique style of playing Dhak, the main instrument of Durga Puja. The ladies of the area performed Dhamail at the rhythm of Daak. The special attraction of the year is the crystal ornaments with which Goddess Durga was adorned with.
Also present during the pandal inauguration were Akashdeep Paul (Binni)- Secretary of the puja committee, senior citizen of the area Nandita Dutta Roy, Chief Adviser Asamanju Biswas among others.
