People excluded from NRC will have no entry in West Bengal: Mamata
পশ্চিমবঙ্গে এনআরসি থেকে বহিষ্কৃত ব্যক্তিদের কোনও প্রবেশপথ থাকবে না: মমতা

সাম্প্রতি পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায় তার রাজ্যের তিনটি জেলা প্রশাসনকে উচ্চ সতর্কতা জারি করেছেন। তিনি 30 জুলাই আসামে প্রকাশিত হতে যাওয়া এনআরসি তালিকায় নাম না থাকা জনগণকে তার রাজ্যে প্রবেশ নিষিদ্ধ করার জন্য আদেশ জারি করেছেন।

কলকাতা, জলপাইগুড়ি ও আলিপুরদুয়ার জেলাগুলি মমতা ব্যানার্জ্জীর এ ধরনের নির্দেশনা পেয়েছে। 10 জুলাই এক জরুরী সভা আহ্বান করে তার এ সিদ্ধান্ত গৃহীত হয়। তিনি আসাম থেকে আশ্রয় প্রার্থীদের সঙ্গে কঠোরভাবে মোকাবেলা করতে আলিপুরদুয়ারের প্রসাশন কর্মকর্তাদের জানিয়ে দিয়েছেন।

শিলিগুড়ি জেলার কর্মকর্তারা মনে করেন যে এই ধরনের কোন ঘাতকতা নিয়ন্ত্রণ করার জন্য তাদের অতিরিক্ত সতর্কতা ব্যবস্থার সিধান্ত নেওয়া প্রয়োজন। এটিও উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে যে, আসামে জাতিগত হিংসার পেছনে অনেক লোক কোকরাঝাড় থেকে 2012 সালে জলপাইগুড়ির কোচবিহারের আশ্রয় নিয়েছে।

অন্য দিকে, আসাম সরকার অভিযোগ করেছে যে বেশ কয়েকটি অভিজ্ঞান সত্ত্বেও, পশ্চিমবঙ্গে তাদের মোট পাঠানো 1,11,482 নথি থেকে 5822 নথিপত্রের সত্যতা যাচাই করেছে। এই দুটি রাজ্যের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক সন্দেহের পথ তৈরি করেছে সরকার। তাছাড়া, আসামের বাঙালি ভাষাভাষী সম্প্রদায়ের জন্য মমতা ব্যানার্জির এই অবস্থান যারা সাধারণত পশ্চিমবঙ্গকে তাদের দ্বিতীয় আবাস হিসেবে বিবেচনা করেন তাদের জন্য বিনা মেঘে বর্জপাত।

In a recent development, West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee has put three district administrations on high alert. She has issued the dictum in order to prohibit the entry of people in her state whose names would be excluded from the final draft of National Register of Citizens (NRC) which would be published on 30 July.

The districts of Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri and Alipurdwar have received such direction from Mamata Banerjee. This decision was taken by her in a hurriedly convened meeting on 10 July. She has asked her officials at Alipurdwar to deal strictly with shelter seekers from Assam.

Officials in Siliguri district are of the view that extra caution measures have been adopted by them to curb any such infiltration. It was also pointed out that in the backdrop of ethnic violence in Assam, many took refuge in Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar from Kokhrajhar in 2012.

On the other hand, Assam government has alleged that inspite of several reminders, West Bengal has only verified the authenticity of 5822 documents out of a total of 1,11,482 documents sent to them.This has paved a way for mutual suspicion between the two state governments. Moreover, this stand of Mamata Banerjee would be a bolt from the blue for the Bengali speaking community of Assam who usually regard West Bengal as their second abode.
