১২ সেপ্টেম্বর : নেশা সামগ্রীর বিরুদ্ধে অভিযানে নেমে আবারও সাফল্য পেল পুলিশ। বুধবার সোনাইয়ের নতুন বাজার থেকে হেরোইন সহ এক ব্যক্তিকে পুলিশ আটক করেছে। ধৃত ব্যক্তি মুজিবুর রহমান, বাড়ি করিমগঞ্জের লক্ষীচরণ রোডে। তার কাছ থেকে ৫ গ্রাম ওজনের হেরোইন উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে।

বর্তমানে পুলিশ তাকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে। পুলিশের ধারণা, ধৃত ব্যক্তির কাছ থেকে পাওয়া তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে আরও কয়েকজনকে গ্রেফতার করা সম্ভব হবে। পুলিশ এ ব্যাপারে একটি মামলা দায়ের করেছে। ধৃত মুজিবুর রহমানকে আদালতে পেশ করা হবে।
এ ব্যাপারে কাছাড়ের পুলিশ সুপার রাকেশ রোওশন জানান, নেশা জাতীয় সামগ্রীর বিরুদ্ধে অভিযান চালাতে একটি বিশেষ দল গঠন করেছে কাছাড় পুলিশ। এই চক্রের সঙ্গে উপর থেকে নিচ পর্যন্ত যারা জড়িত রয়েছে, তাদের কাউকেই ছেড়ে দেওয়া হবে না বলে তিনি স্পষ্টভাবে উল্লেখ করেন।

তিনি আরও জানান, এই অভিযানে গ্রাম রক্ষীবাহিনীকেও শামিল করা হয়েছে এবং প্রতিটি পুলিশ স্টেশনে এ ব্যাপারে গ্রাম রক্ষীবাহিনী পক্ষ থেকে নিয়মিত সচেতনতা সভার আয়োজন করা হচ্ছে। তিনি এ ব্যাপারে জনগণের সহযোগিতাও কামনা করেন।

September 12: Success again came on the way of the police in their operation against drug peddlers. On Wednesday, police arrested a man red handed with heroine in his possession from Natun Bazar area of Sonai. The person arrested is Mujibur Rahman, a resident of Lakhicharan Road, Karimganj. Police has recovered heroine weighting 5 grams from him.

At present interrogation is on to find out the involvement of others in this illegal trade. Police are hopeful that on the basis of the information divulged by Mujibur, they will be able to arrest some more drug peddlers. A case has been registered in this regard and the accused will be produced before the court.

Rakesh Rousan, Superintendintent of Police of Cachar has informed that they have formed a special team who will start operation against menace of drugs. He categorically stated that, “Whosoever is involved in this nexus whether a consumer, peddler or kingpin… nobody will be excused.” He also informed that they have engaged VDP in this work. “At Police Station level, awareness campaign with VDP will be organized at regular basis,” said the Police Super.
