ক্যানসারে নিউক্লিয়ার মেডিসিন মিলবে শিলচরেও, ১১ কোটি দিচ্ছে বিমানবন্দর কর্তৃপক্ষ
Nuclear Medicine to be available for cancer patients of Silchar, 11 crore donated by Airport Authority

৭ সেপ্টেম্বরঃ কাছাড় ক্যানসার হাসপাতালে নিউক্লিয়ার মেডিসিন পাওয়া শুধু সময়ের অপেক্ষা। এরই মধ্যে হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ যাবতীয় প্রস্তুতি সেরে নিয়েছে। শুধু সমস্যা ছিল অর্থের। কারণ নিউক্লিয়ার মেডিসিন রাখার জন্য বিশেষ ধরনের দালানবাড়ির প্রয়োজন। প্রয়োজন প্রচুর দামি সরঞ্জামের। সব মিলিয়ে দরকার ১১ কোটি ১৪ লক্ষ টাকা। শিলচর বিমানবন্দর কর্তৃপক্ষ ওই টাকা দিতে সম্মত হওয়ায় দুশ্চিন্তার অবসান হলো। বৃহস্পতিবারই তাঁরা তুলে দিয়েছেন প্রথম কিস্তি হিসেবে এক-তৃতীয়াংশ অর্থ। জেলাশাসকের কনফারেন্স হলে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ৩ কোটি ৩৪ লক্ষ ২৭ হাজার ৩৮৮ টাকার চেক তুলে দিলেন শিলচর বিমানবন্দরের ডিরেক্টর সিএল ইন্ডি। কাছাড় ক্যানসার হাসপাতালের পক্ষে ডিরেক্টর রবি কান্নান ও চিকিতসক রীতেশ তাপখিরে এই চেক গ্রহণ করেন। ডা. কান্নান জানান, ক্যানসার চিকিতসায় নিউক্লিয়ার মেডিসিন আধুনিক সংযোজন। উত্তর-পূর্বে গুয়াহাটি ছাড়া অন্য কোথাও এই ওষুধ রাখার ব্যবস্থা নেই। শিলচরে এর ব্যবস্থা হলে শুধু বরাক উপত্যকা নয়, উপকৃত হবেন ত্রিপুরা, মিজোরাম, মণিপুরের রোগীরাও। ডিরেক্টর ইন্ডি জানান, এই টাকা তাদের সিএসআর প্রজেক্টের আওতাভুক্ত। গত বছরও তারা ক্যানসার হাসপাতালকে ৭৬ লক্ষ টাকা দিয়েছেন।

এই চেক হস্তান্তর অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন পাঁচ বিধায়ক দিলীপকুমার পাল, কিশোর নাথ, আমিনুল হক লস্কর, অমরচাঁদ জৈন ও মিহিরকান্তি সোম। ছিলেন জেলাশাসক এস লক্ষ্মণন, স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের যুগ্ম সঞ্চালক ডা. সুদীপজ্যোতি দাস, বিমানবন্দরের ওএসডি অর্ণব দাস প্রমুখ। কাছাড় জেলায় ক্যানসারের অবস্থা জানাতে গিয়ে সুদীপজ্যোতিবাবু শুরুতেই বলেন, কোনও তথ্য নিয়ে তিনি সভায় যাননি। আইসিআইসিআই-র পক্ষ থেকে একটি পাওয়ার পয়েন্ট প্রেজেন্টেশন করা হয়। এরাই কাছাড়ের ক্যানসার সচেতনতামূলক সভা-সমিতিতে যাতায়াতের প্রয়োজনীয় যানবাহনের ব্যবস্থা করেন।

বৃহস্পতিবার একই অনুষ্ঠানে সুহৃদ প্রকল্পে ৮ ক্যানসার রোগীকে আর্থিক সাহায্য করা হয়। উধারবন্দের মিতালিরানি দাস ছাড়া বাকি সাতজনের পরিবারের মানুষ বিধায়কদের হাত থেকে চেক গ্রহণ করেন। এঁরা হলেন উধারবন্দের তপন দাস, বড়খলার রাজকুমার মালা ও বিনয় নাথ, কাটিগড়ার মনিকা পাল ও সুবীর ভট্টাচার্য এবং সোনাইর রূপরাজ রাজভর ও মিন্টু দে। মিতালিদেবীর বাড়িতে চেক পৌঁছানোর ব্যবস্থা করা হবে বলে বিভাগীয় সূত্রে জানানো হয়েছে।

September 7: Very soon nuclear medicine will be available for the cancer patients at Cachar Cancer Hospital. The hospital authorities have completed all preparations in this regard. The only obstacle in its path was that of finance. For the purpose of storing nuclear medicine, a special type of building is necessary. Also required are costly materials. A total of 11 crore 14 lakh rupees will be required for the purpose.

Putting an end to all worries, Silchar Airport Authority has come forward to help Cachar Cancer Hospital with that amount. On Thursday, they handed over one-third of the sum assured to the hospital management. C.L. Indi, Director of Silchar Airport handed over an amount of Rs. 3 crore 34 lakh 27 thousand and 244 in the conference hall of the Deputty Commissioner, Cachar. On behalf of Cachar Cahcer Hospital, the cheque was received by its Director Dr. Ravi Kannan and Dr. Ritesh Taphkhire.

Dr. Kannan informed that in treating cancer, nuclear medicine is a new addition. Except Guwahati, there is no other place in entire North East where this medicine can be stored. He said that if this facility of storing nuclear medicine is made available at Silchar, than the cancer patients of Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur will also be benefitted. Director Indi said that the money has been donated out of the CSR Project Fund. They had also given an amount of Rs. 76 lakh to the Cancer Hospital last year.

Present during this cheque handover ceremony were five MLAs. They are  Dilip Kumar Paul, Kishore Nath, Aminul Haque Laskar, Amarchand Jain and Mihir Kanti Shome. Apart from them, S.Laksmanan, Deputy Commissioner Cachar, Dr. Sudipto Jyoti Das, Joint Director of Health, Arnab Das, OSD of Silchar Airport and some others were also present there. A power point presentation was also made by ICICI. It is ICICI who makes arrangement for vehicles for attending cancer awareness camps at various places.
