মিজোরামে এনআরসি চেকিং, অমিজোদের ব্যাপক ধরপাকড়
NRC checking at Mizoram, Non-Mizos harassed & arrested

মিজোরামে বুধবার রাত থেকে ফের শুরু হয়েছে আইএলপি চেকিং। অসমের বাসিন্দাদের কাছে খোঁজা হচ্ছে এনআরসি-ও। অমিজো লোকদের ব্যাপক ধরপাকড় করছে মিজোরাম পুলিশ। কিন্তু কতজনকে আটকে রাখা হয়েছে, এ নিয়ে স্পষ্ট করে কেউ কিছু জানাচ্ছে না। বিভিন্ন অমিজো সূত্রে জানা গিয়েছে, শুধু আইজল শহরে দু দিনে ধৃতের সংখ্যা দু হাজার ছাড়িয়ে যাবে। বড়বাজার, পুলিগঞ্জ, সাইরেং, বংকং প্রভৃতি থানাতেও আটক রয়েছেন প্রচুর অ-মিজো।

এনআরসি প্রক্রিয়া সম্পূর্ণ হওয়ার পূর্বে কোথায় মিলবে এর নম্বর, প্রশ্ন তুলছেন অমিজোরা। কিন্তু পুলিশ কারও কথা শুনতে নারাজ। সহস্রাধিক অমিজো জনতাকে দু দিন ধরে আটকে রাখা হয়েছে। ছোট্ট কোঠায় গাদাগাদি করে রাখা হয়েছে তাদের। তাতে অশেষ যন্ত্রণা ভুগতে হচ্ছে অমিজোদের। অভিযোগ, আইএলপি রিনিউ করে ধৃত অমিজোদের ছাড়িয়ে আনতে গেলে মিজোরামের  পুলিশ মাথাপিছু ৫০০ টাকা উৎকোচ নিচ্ছে। অনেকের কাছ থেকে তাদের সঙ্গে থাকা অন্যান্য কাগজপত্র কেড়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে।কোনও কোনও পুলিশ অফিসার আবার ভোটার আইডি, প্যান কার্ড, পঞ্চায়েত সচিবের সার্টিফিকেট নিয়ে যেতে ধৃতদের বাড়িঘরে ফোন করছেন।

September 14: Since Wednesday night, in the name of checking Inner Line Permit (ILP), non-Mizos are again been harassed in Mizoram. Inhabitants of Assam are asked to produce NRC. All these activities are carried on by Mizoram Police. Non-Mizos are detained in large numbers. But at present no one is able to clearly specify the number of non-Mizos detained by the police. Some non-Mizo sources have revealed that since last two days more than 2000 non-Mizos were detained at Aizawl town alone. That means, the total number of persons detained in entire Mizoram will be a large one.

The non-Mizos tried their level best to make Mizoram police explain the fact that until and unless the final list of NRC is declared, no NRC Card or serial number will be generated. But unfortunately, police are not ready to buy their arguments. Thousands of non-Mizos are detained by force in small rooms, thereby making it impossible for them to even breathe properly. It has been alleged that if the non-Mizos renew their IPL and go to bring back the detained persons, then Mizoram Police demands a bribe of Rs.500 per person.
