Nomination for Silchar Lok Sabha constituency can be filed till 26 March: DC Cachar
March 19: Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer Laya Madduri on Tuesday issued the notification for filing of nomination in regard to Lok Sabha Election, 2019. Speaking to newsmen, L. Madduri stated that nominations for the Silchar constituency will be accepted from Wednesday onwards, barring public holidays at the office of the Deputy Commissioner from 11 AM till 3 PM.
Addressing the media at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, L.Madduri further said that a candidate can come only in three vehicles accompanied by a maximum of five persons including the candidate himself or herself for filing nominations. Supporters of their respective parties shall have to remain 100 metres away from the office of the Deputy Commissioner. She also informed that the last date for filing of nominations is 26 March, 2019.
A candidate can spend in all, Rs 70 lakhs for his or her campaign and he or she can carry Rs 50,000 for any transactions per day. Laya Madduri also informed that election observer, Vikas Joshi, has already reached Silchar and is keeping a vigil on related aspects.
