‘No bill, no payment’ campaign launched by NF Railways
August 7: Indian Railway’s has taken in hand a special drive for enforcing the issue of bill by catering vendors to consumers in trains and stations. The commercial department of Rangiya Division of Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) has taken the initiative of the Indian Railways to ensure issuing of bill quite seriously. The main aim of this drive is to create awareness among the passengers for their right to a bill while making any payments at refreshment rooms, food plazas and various stalls at railway stations.
In a press release issued by NFR Chief Public Relations Officer P J Sharma, it was stated that, “‘Through this campaign, passengers are made aware of their right for bill against any payment and the major catering outlets in stations over the Division have been covered in this campaign.”
NFR has given special thrust to a campaign by the name of ‘If no bill is issued, then your food is free.‘ The campaign also has a visibility component with T-shirts with motto ‘No bill, No payment, No Tips’ for creating passenger awareness.
The release further stated that a surprise check was also undertaken on train number 14055 Brahmaputra Mail which was passing through the Division and the checking team detected seven cases of non-issuance of bill by pantry car vendors amounting to Rs 880. At once, the Manager of the pantry car was compelled to refund Rs 880 to all those seven passengers on the spot. NFR informed that more such checks will be carried out in other trains also.
