NCYS sends email to DC Cachar, asks to start home delivery of essential supplies via NGOs

March 26: The Hailakandi District Administration has initiated the supply of essential commodities to the residents of the town in collaboration with the Municipal Board and NGOs. Being inspired by this system, the members of Netaji Chatra Yuba Sangstha (NCYS) has appealed to the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar to start a similar mode of home delivery of essential grocery commodities, medicines etc.

In an email sent to Barnali Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Dilu Das, General Secretary of NCYS wrote that at this critical juncture of 21-days lockdown, it has become very difficult for a large section of the populace to to go out and purchase essential commodities including medicines. This they suggested could be easily done by the reputed NGOs of Silchar, who will be happy to deliver this service. NYCS even volunteered to be a part of any such initiative, if undertaken by the district administration.
