Mysterious death of an auto-rickshaw driver at Meherpur

April 21: Before anybody could understand anything, an auto-rickshaw driver lost his life within a fraction of a minute that people nearby him all became speechless. That death can be so sudden is proved by this incident. On Sunday afternoon, an auto bearing no. AS11 CC 1314 was on its way towards Silchar town from the NIT point. However, just after proceeding little distance, the auto driver suddenly stopped the auto and ran out of it. He sat down on a bench in a roadside stall. But within a few seconds he collapsed on the ground.

The owner of the roadside stall at once dialed 108 and also informed Ghungoor Police. On reaching the spot, and the medical personnel in it declared the driver as dead. Police too reached the spot and took the deadbody for autopsy. The auto was also taken its custody by the police.

However, the police recovered the registration card from the vehicle and traced the name of its owner as Moloy Chakraborty, a resident of Rongpur Part-II. Police sent message to the owner of the auto-rickshaw to meet them at the police station so that the identity of the deceased driver could be traced. As the dead body could not be identified at that moment so it would be kept in the morgue of Silchar Medical College & Hospital for his kith and kin to identify.

The way in which the man died has become a mystery. Eye witnesses too are of the opinion that before they could understand anything, the man collapsed all of a sudden in front of all.
